Worship sounds and looks the way it does because of the people in the booth. On Wednesday, July 15, we are training a new wave of Tech Team volunteers on the brand new sound board being installed July 13 and 14.

Dustin Suffield, lead technician with McClelland Sound, is leading the training in the sanctuary. The evening has two ways in:

  • 4:00 PM: The full hands-on session. Plan on about 90 minutes of focused teaching on the new board.
  • 5:30 PM: Drop in during praise team rehearsal. If you cannot leave work by 4:00, come straight from the workday. Dustin stays on site through rehearsal and can work you in around a live mix.

This training is for anyone who wants to learn:

  • Current audio volunteers learning the new board
  • Graphics team members cross-training on the new audio board
  • Livestream volunteers learning the new audio path
  • Anyone in the church who is curious about serving on the Tech Team, including teens, parents, and parent-teen pairs

No experience is required. The new equipment is new to all of us, which makes this the right moment to come in. Watch, ask questions, try a few things with backup, and decide if it is for you.

Want to get a head start? Dustin shared a playlist of Allen and Heath training videos for the SQ mixer family. All SQ mixers share the same interface, so these videos line up with the board we are installing. Watching is completely optional, but if you like to be prepared, here is the link: Allen and Heath SQ training playlist.
