From January 25 through February 8, help us tackle hunger by dropping off easy-to-open protein outside the sanctuary. As the nation gears up for Super Bowl Sunday on February 8, we're taking on the biggest challenge in our community: making sure no neighbor goes hungry.
Bring easy-to-open or easy-to-eat protein anytime during the two-week collection period. 100% of everything collected goes directly to our church food cupboard, which serves families facing food insecurity in McPherson County. Protein is often the most expensive and hardest-to-afford food, making your donations especially valuable.
Most needed items include pop-top cans of tuna, chicken, beans, chili, or stew (no can opener required), plus tuna or chicken pouches. Easy-to-open packaging helps people who lack kitchen equipment, have limited hand strength, or need quick portable nutrition.
This collection is part of the national Souper Bowl of Caring movement, now in its 34th year with over 300,000 groups participating. Since 1990, communities have raised nearly $200 million to tackle hunger locally. The movement transforms Super Bowl season from spectator sport into servant action—turning game day into an opportunity to care for neighbors.
All ages welcome. Drop off donations outside the sanctuary anytime between January 25 and February 8. Questions? Contact hello@mcphersonfirst.org or 620-241-3626. Learn more at tacklehunger.org.
