The Leadership Board met on February 25 for its first regular meeting under new leadership. Amanda Faber was elected Chair, Dean Brown as Vice Chair, and Marianne Prochaska as Secretary. The board reviewed guiding documents, renewed its covenant together, and moved into an active agenda focused on the months ahead.
The board approved a comprehensive financial plan for the Tomorrow First HVAC project. Through January 31, the campaign has received approximately $888,717, with total commitments of $1,844,683 from 110 households. The financial strategy authorizes a bridge loan at 6.25% interest from Wesleyan Impact Partners for remaining project costs, with a plan for full payoff by October 2028. The board also approved returning the Oberst Fund investments from Short Term Income to the KMF Balanced Fund, and the treasurer will provide quarterly progress reports.
Construction officially began on February 23. P1 Service will work Monday through Thursday across five phases, finishing with startup and testing in mid-July. Worship continues as normal every Sunday throughout the project.
The "From Darkness to Light" stewardship series concluded on Commitment Sunday, February 15. After just one week, 62 commitments totaling $335,020 have been received — 47% of our target of 132 giving units. The average commitment is $5,404 per giving unit, and giving is already tracking ahead of last year's pace. Personal outreach and follow-up mailings continue in the weeks ahead.
The Vision 2030 congregational survey has drawn 34 responses so far and runs through March 1. Results will directly shape the board's Strategic Planning Retreat on Saturday, March 7, where the board will begin establishing a 3-year rolling strategic vision and annual goals aligned with the new July–June fiscal year. The board also discussed future capital projects including technology upgrades and security improvements, and will revisit those items once formal quotes are gathered.
The next Leadership Board meeting is March 25 at 6:00 PM.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Andrew
