John 18:12-27
When Courage Fails

Peter swore he would die for Jesus. Hours later, standing by a fire in the high priest’s courtyard, he denied knowing Jesus three times. It’s one of the most painfully human moments in scripture — the gap between who we want to be and who we are when the pressure comes. In this sermon from our Witnesses series, we explore John 18:12-27 and discover that Peter’s failure wasn’t the end of his story. The same Jesus who predicted the denial prepared a restoration. Through the lens of Methodist theology and Wesley’s framework of grace, we find hope for every moment we’ve chosen silence over conviction, comfort over courage. Your denial is not news to God — and grace is already preparing breakfast on the shore.
