Peace with Justice Sunday is one of six churchwide Special Sundays in The United Methodist Church, and this year we celebrate it on May 31 during both worship services. Through a special offering, we join congregations across the connection in supporting programs that advocate for peace and work toward justice at home and around the world.
Half of every dollar given stays right here in the Great Plains Annual Conference to support local social justice ministries. The other half funds global peacemaking programs through the General Board of Church and Society. From conflict resolution training to ministries addressing poverty, racism, and violence, this offering makes a tangible difference.
The United Methodist Church has a historic commitment to shalom — that rich Hebrew word meaning not just the absence of conflict but positive peace: harmony, wholeness, health, and well-being in all human relationships. Your generosity gives our denomination a voice in advocating for that kind of peace through the United Nations, ecumenical partnerships, and direct ministry.
Worship happens at 8:30 AM and 10:15 AM in our sanctuary. Can't join in person? Watch online at mcphersonfirst.org/worship. Give through the offering plate or give online here.
