Every July, United Methodist churches across the connection begin a new appointive year — the moment when the bishop and cabinet affirm pastoral appointments for the year ahead. It's a milestone worth celebrating, and we're grateful that Pastor Andrew Conard and Pastor Chantel Makarawa are continuing to serve at McPherson First.

On Sunday, July 5, we're marking Pastor Appreciation Sunday with a congregation-wide welcome back. This is our chance to express gratitude for the ways our pastors walk alongside us through every season of life — preaching, teaching, praying, visiting, leading, and loving this community.

The centerpiece of the celebration is a card shower for both pastors. Card baskets will be available in the sanctuary lobby for you to drop off a note of encouragement, a written prayer, or a word of thanks. If you won't be with us on July 5, cards can be mailed to the church office in advance. If you'd like to include a gift card as an extra blessing, that's a thoughtful touch — but the words you write are what matters most.

Worship at 8:30 AM and 10:15 AM. Write from the heart and help us celebrate the pastoral relationships God has given us. All are welcome.
