Go and Grow Fall Launch
Who invested in you when you were young? A Sunday school teacher who knew your name. A youth leader who sat with you after a hard week. A church that sent you to camp before anyone asked whether you could afford it. On Sunday, October 11, McPherson First UMC launches Go and Grow for the fall, our annual giving campaign for the experiences that shape young faith, and invites you to be that person for the kids and youth in our church right now.
Here is how Go and Grow fits alongside everything else your generosity supports. Our Ministry Funding Plan, carried by your regular giving, sustains the week-in and week-out ministry: KidsZone on Wednesday nights, Middle School and High School Youth Group, and the people and space that make ministry happen all year long. Go and Grow goes above and beyond that. It funds the milestone experiences that live outside the weekly rhythm: summer camp at Camp Horizon, youth mission trips, and Youth 2027 in Dallas (July 11 to 14, 2027), the quadrennial youth gathering of the United Methodist Church.
These experiences carry a real cost for each child and youth, and that is exactly what Go and Grow is for. Your gift keeps them affordable for every family, so cost never decides which child goes to camp or which youth goes on mission. One campaign, in place of a year of fundraisers, lets the whole church family open these doors together.
If it feels familiar, it is. Go and Grow drew a strong response this spring, and we have moved it to the fall to build on that momentum and give our ministries more runway to plan. The spring campaign funded this past summer. This fall launch funds the summer ahead.
October 11 is also the closing Sunday of our Five Promises sermon series. Week 5 sits with the promise of Gifts, so the campaign launches inside a series already inviting us into the practice of generosity.
The campaign runs from October 11 through November 8. Make your gift during these four weeks, and know that gifts remain welcome year-round.
