This week the new system became ours to run. On Thursday, our team completed owner training with P1, walking through the building we have rebuilt together and learning to operate the new heating and cooling system. At the end, P1 handed over the operator's manuals, a fitting picture of a project moving from construction into daily life.

What's Happening

Scott Reimer and Jay Warner spent Thursday with the P1 team, moving from the new boilers and pumps in the mechanical room to the rooftop units, and our staff learned the new digital controls that manage temperature, scheduling, and alerts across the building. The new heating and cooling system is up and running, and hot water is restored. Crews also installed a balance damper to quiet the airflow in the Chapel. With training complete, P1 delivered the full set of operator's manuals for the system.

What to Expect

We are in final closeout, with about two more weeks of finishing work. Crews will be in the building Monday through Thursday with some noise, but there are no water outages or major room closures. The electrician returns Monday, July 27 to replace three damaged lights in the nursery.

A Note on Comfort

The new system gives us far more control than we have ever had, room by room and season by season. We are starting from general set points across the building and will keep fine-tuning the schedules and settings over the coming weeks. Getting it right is a partnership, so if a space feels too warm or too cool, please let us know and we will work with the people who use each room to dial it in.

Looking Ahead

Over the next couple of weeks, finishing work continues, including matching paint, doors, trim, and ceiling tile. City and state boiler inspections and final closeout follow in late July and early August as the project comes to completion.

By the Numbers

113 households have committed $1,845,113 toward the campaign. This week we crossed a meaningful milestone: gifts received now total $1,002,235.97, which is 57% of our $1.75 million goal. Passing $1 million is a testament to this congregation's faithfulness and generosity.

What began as a promise on paper is now running quietly above and beneath us, ready to keep this a place where people can gather, worship, and grow in comfort for years to come.
