Down in the mechanical room, the heart of our new system is now in place and running. Two new high-efficiency boilers stand where the old equipment used to be, and fresh pumps and piping carry heating and cooling to every corner of the building. What began as a promise on paper is now humming quietly beneath our feet.

What's Happening

The two new condensing boilers are installed and online, and new pumps move water through the building to keep our spaces comfortable year round. Crews spent this week balancing and fine-tuning the system, adjusting airflow room by room so each space is both comfortable and quiet. Ceiling tile and grid continue going back in across the building, the controls are coming online, and finish work is underway, including matching paint, doors, and trim.

What to Expect

A crane returns briefly on Tuesday, July 14, to make one final adjustment to a rooftop ventilation unit. It is a short visit, much smaller than the crane picks earlier this year. Please park on the far east side of the lot that morning and steer clear of the crane work area. Finish work continues for about two to three more weeks, with crews in the building Monday through Thursday. There are no water outages or major room closures this week.

Looking Ahead

Owner, controls, and equipment training is set for July 23, when our staff will learn to run and monitor the new system. Final closeout and city and state inspections follow in late July as the project comes to completion.

By the Numbers

113 households have committed $1,845,113 toward the campaign. To date we have received $979,874.26, which is 56% of our $1.75 million goal.

How to Give

Give online at mcphersonfirst.org/give (select "Tomorrow First"), by mail to 1200 E Kansas Ave, McPherson, KS 67460, or place a gift in the worship offering plate marked "Tomorrow First."

The work we cannot always see is doing exactly what we hoped, quietly making this a place where people can gather, worship, and grow in comfort for years to come. Thank you for your generosity and your patience. God is at work in this building, preparing us for the ministry still ahead.
