McPherson First UMC's Servant Outreach Fund provided critical assistance to multiple families throughout August, demonstrating the congregation's commitment to community care when neighbors face unexpected hardships.

The fund helped four families maintain essential utilities by assisting with BPU bill payments, preventing service interruptions during the hot summer month. Transportation needs were also addressed when the church helped a single mother who delivers packages and groceries for local companies. The assistance allowed her to replace a blown tire and another tire that was dangerously worn, ensuring she could continue working to support her family.

In a particularly meaningful act of care, the ministry assisted an elderly gentleman who had fallen victim to a scam affecting his Kansas Gas and BPU accounts. The church's intervention helped restore his financial stability and utility services. Additionally, one family received rental assistance to help maintain stable housing.

These acts of servant outreach for community care represent the heart of the congregation's mission to transform lives in McPherson. Through generous support, the church is able to respond quickly when neighbors face crisis situations. Each story represents a family who experienced God's love in practical, life-changing ways.

The Servant Outreach Fund continues to accept contributions to support local families facing financial hardship. Those interested in contributing or learning more about this community care ministry can contact the church office at 620-241-3626‬.
