Six months ago crews opened our ceilings and carried out equipment that had served this church for decades. This week they are painting, setting trim, and putting the last ceiling tiles back. The building is becoming itself again, with a system inside it that will carry us for years.

What's Happening

General construction is finishing this week. Trim work and flooring in two second floor rooms are the last major items, and an electrician is on site to correct some outlet issues. Ceiling tile is back in place across the building except in two rooms where an insulator is correcting condensate on the piping, and the tile goes back in there once that work is done. The controls team is finishing the last zone adjustments and setting up automatic alerts, so the system will tell us about a problem before anyone notices a room getting uncomfortable. Testing continues on water flow through the building, with the paperwork headed to final documentation.

What to Expect

Crews are in the building Monday through Thursday with some noise, but there are no water outages or room closures. Next week the city inspector comes through, followed by the state boiler inspector. August 10 is P1's target date for final turnover, when the building and its new system officially become ours to run.

Caring for What We Built

A system this good deserves real care. A maintenance company presents a preventive maintenance plan next week: half the building's units checked every three months, the boilers twice a year, and the chiller three times a year, beginning in September. Your gifts bought equipment that should serve this congregation for decades, and this plan is how we protect that investment.

Looking Ahead

This week brings the end of general construction and the final ceiling tile. Next week brings inspections, the preventive maintenance plan, and final turnover. The first scheduled maintenance visit follows in September.

113 households have committed $1,845,113 toward the campaign. As of August 4, 2026, $1,007,093.99 has been received, 58% of our $1.75 million goal. Every gift that comes in reduces what the church needs to borrow.
