2 Timothy 2:8-15 (CEB)
Flame Under Pressure

Faith rarely goes out in a blaze. It cools quietly, one small choice at a time, when no one tends it. Writing from a prison cell, Paul hands a young pastor a saying the early church sang: even when we are faithless, God stays faithful, because God cannot be anything other than what God is.

In week three of Passing the Flame, endurance turns out to be not heroic willpower but showing up depleted and not quitting, fed by a God who meets us at a table we never earned. This is a Communion Sunday; the table is open.

Worship at McPherson First on Sundays at 8:30 AM (hymns and organ) and 10:15 AM (praise team), or online at youtube.com/@mcphersonfirst.
