Somewhere around Wednesday, the scoreboard turns back on, and the question quietly shifts from "do I have enough?" to "do I have as much as them?" Writing to a young pastor, Paul names a different kind of gain: godliness combined with contentment, hope set on God instead of the balance.
On the opening Sunday of Passing the Flame, we begin where the chain begins, with what is actually worth carrying. Like a grain cart at harvest, we are built to receive what we have been given, carry it, and release it, because God gave first. Paul calls the result "the life that really is life."
Worship at McPherson First on Sundays at 8:30 AM (hymns and organ) and 10:15 AM (praise team), or online at youtube.com/@mcphersonfirst.
