It is a First UMC tradition. On Wednesday, December 9, the youth group takes on The Great Christmas Dash, an evening of carts, lists, and a whole lot of moving fast through Walmart to buy Christmas gifts for families in our community.

Each year the youth group adopts families through StepMC. Students do all the shopping and all the wrapping, which means they spend a December evening thinking about someone else’s Christmas morning. Meet at the church at 6:00 PM and we will be back by 8:00 PM.

Any 6th through 12th grader is welcome, whether you have been at youth group all fall or this is your first Wednesday. Bring a friend along. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay.

The gifts are funded through our Ministry Funding Plan, the same offering that supports every other ministry here. When you give to our regular offering, you fill those carts. Hold these families in your prayers as you give this Christmas.
