Most people hear “the Ten Commandments” and think of rules carved in stone, things you’re not supposed to do. But what if they are not restrictions at all? What if they are an invitation into the life God imagines for us? As households re-establish rhythms for a new school year, join us for The Good Life, a four-week sermon series returning to the moment when God said, “I brought you out,” and offered a way of living that leads to freedom.

Across four Sundays we trace the covenant arc from Sinai to our own lives: the invitation that starts everything, loving what matters most, building the kind of neighborhood God imagines, and discovering that enough really is enough. Whether you grew up memorizing the commandments or have never opened Exodus, you have a place in this conversation.

Weekly Schedule:

  • August 16: You Are Invited (Exodus 19:1-6; 20:1-2).
  • August 23: Loving What Matters Most (Exodus 20:3-11).
  • August 30: The Neighborhood God Imagines (Exodus 20:12-16).
  • September 6: Enough (Exodus 20:17).

Worship happens at 8:30 AM and 10:15 AM every Sunday. Can’t join in person? Watch online at youtube.com/@mcphersonfirst.

All are welcome. Bring a friend and discover what happens when rules become invitation, and invitation becomes the good life.
