Next March, Pastor Chantel Makarawa and I are leading a trip through the places where this country’s civil rights story happened. On Sunday, September 20 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM in the Serve Center, come find out what the trip is and whether it is for you.

The Southern Civil Rights Tour runs March 13 through 19, 2027, departing from Wichita. We will visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic Park in Atlanta and worship at Ebenezer Baptist Church. We will stand inside 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, walk through the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, and spend a day in Tuskegee.

At the session we will walk through the trip day by day with photographs, talk plainly about what it costs and what the price covers, and leave real time for your questions. Nobody will be asked to sign up. Come to look.

You do not need to be a historian or an activist. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to stand in these places, come see where we are going.

No RSVP needed. The first deposit deadline for the trip is November 17.
