152nd Birthday Celebration

On April 13, 1874, a small group of Methodists gathered in McPherson to establish what would become McPherson First United Methodist Church. 152 years later, we're still here - still worshiping, still serving, still growing as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Join us on Sunday, April 19 as we celebrate this milestone with birthday treats after both worship services. Stop by the Serve Center following the 8:30 AM or 10:15 AM service for sweets and fellowship as we give thanks for over a century and a half of faithful ministry.

Give a $152 Birthday Gift to the Legacy Fund

As part of our celebration, we're inviting everyone who calls McPherson First home to join in a birthday gift of $152 to our Legacy Fund — one dollar for every year God has been faithful to this congregation. The Legacy Fund is built to sustain ministry long after any of us have taken our seat in this sanctuary for the last time. You can give with an envelope from the pew back (just write "Birthday" on the memo), online here, or in the Church Center app by selecting Legacy Fund. A $152 gift from enough of us becomes a significant investment in the next 152 years.

From circuit-riding preachers to livestreamed services, from kerosene lamps to LED screens, much has changed since 1874. But our mission remains the same: making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Every generation has passed the torch of faith to the next, and we're honored to carry it forward.
