Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, and we've put together a guide to walk with you through the entire season. "Witnesses: A Lenten Guide" is a free devotional resource covering Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday, April 5.
The guide includes daily scripture readings and reflection questions for each week of Lent, all drawn from John's Gospel. You'll meet ordinary people who encountered Jesus during the most critical hours of his life — from Martha's grief-stricken faith to Peter's fearful denial, from Pilate's political calculations to Mary's Easter morning recognition. Their stories invite us to consider where we stand when it matters most.
You'll also find a simple introduction to Grace Groups — small communities of six to eight people who meet weekly around three honest questions about faith, God sightings, and the challenges we're facing. Lent is a perfect time to gather a few friends and try meeting weekly. You don't need to be a Bible scholar or a spiritual expert. The three questions do the work. If you'd like help getting started, email Pastor Andrew or talk to him on Sunday.
Printed copies are available on the welcome table. You can also download the guide here as a Word document with the link below to read on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Whether you use it on your own, with your family, or in a group, we hope this guide helps you grow closer to God this Lent.
