What the guide is

The guide explains how we grow as disciples at McPherson First. It walks through what it means to become a member, the meaning of baptism and confirmation, the promises we make to one another, and the Grace Groups and everyday practices that help our faith grow. It also lays out our discipleship pathway, a simple picture of how we keep growing in the love of God and neighbor. Whether you are visiting for the first time or you have been part of this church for decades, the guide is here to help you take a clear next step.

Why we are asking now

This is a review edition, which means it is not finished yet. We want to hear from you before we print the final version. The heart of the guide is settled: our Scripture, the sacraments, and our Wesleyan roots. What is still open is the wording, anything we may have left out, the order of the sections, and the design. That is where your reading will help us most.

How to get a copy

Printed copies are available at the church, 1200 E Kansas Ave. Stop by the office during the week, or pick one up on a Sunday. Prefer to read on a screen? You can download the guide using the link at the bottom of this page, and print your own copy if you would like. Take your time with it, and read it the way you would read a letter from a friend.

How to share your feedback

You can respond in two ways, and either one helps. The quickest is our online feedback form, which takes only a few minutes: share your feedback here. If you prefer paper, every printed copy has a tear-off feedback form in the back. Fill it out and drop it at the church office. There are no wrong answers. Your honest read is what helps us most. Please respond by the end of July.

This guide belongs to all of us, our members, our neighbors, and everyone wondering what a next step in following Jesus might look like. Thank you for helping us get it right. With your voice in it, we will keep learning together to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.
