Servant Outreach Fund Helps Local Family Find a Home

Last month, our church's Servant Outreach Fund made a real difference in the lives of a mother and her teenage daughter who suddenly became homeless.

The mother has a disability that prevents her from speaking or writing. When she needed help applying for an apartment, Jessica Smith from STEP MC (Steps to End Poverty of McPherson County), who helps administer our Servant Outreach Fund, worked with her using a translator app. When they learned she was approved for help with the deposit, the mother cried tears of joy.

How the Servant Outreach Fund Works

The Servant Outreach Fund helps us provide immediate assistance to community members in need. Our church partners with STEP MC to identify people facing financial crises and to make sure funds reach those who need them most. Together, we might help with:

  • Housing deposits
  • Utility bills
  • Medical costs
  • Other emergency needs

This partnership helps us live out our church's mission to serve our neighbors and share God's love in practical ways.
