Pray over the Pews
On Christmas Eve morning, before the sanctuary fills for candlelight worship, you’re invited to come pray over the pews.
Join us anytime between 10 AM and noon on Thursday, December 24. Walk through the sanctuary, pause at a pew, and offer a prayer for whoever will sit there that night: a longtime member, a first-time guest, someone you know well or a stranger you’ll never meet. Come and go as you’re able. No RSVP, no program, just an open sanctuary and time to pray.
A short prayer prompt card will be available at the entrance for anyone who wants a guide, though praying in your own words is just as welcome.
This is new for our church this year: a quiet way to prepare the space, and the people who will fill it, before we gather for candlelight worship at 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM that evening. Christmas Eve is our largest worship night of the year, and many who walk through our doors that night will be visitors. Praying over an empty pew now is one way to welcome them before they ever arrive.
