 s birthday\, McPherson First UMC joins United Methodists across the connec
 tion in receiving the Human Relations Day offering.\nFor more than 50 year
 s\, United Methodists have observed this special Sunday to live out the me
 ssage Jesus embodied: that every one of God’s children matters. Human Re
 lations Day is one of six churchwide Special Sundays\, and it helps carry 
 forward Dr. King’s vision of a “beloved community.”\nThe offering su
 pports three ministries: 57% funds the Community Developers Program\, stre
 ngthening racial-ethnic minority congregations and community organizing ro
 oted in local needs\; 33% supports United Methodist Voluntary Services\, e
 quipping volunteers for hands-on projects and community organizing\; and 1
 0% funds youth offender rehabilitation programs\, providing mentoring and 
 faith-based support for young people working toward a new start.\nHow to g
 ive: give in worship at 8:30 AM or 10:15 AM\, mail a check to the church o
 ffice with “Human Relations Day” in the memo line\, or give online dir
 ectly to Human Relations Day. Each gift joins with congregations across th
 e connection\, building communities where everyone can flourish.\nAll are 
 welcome to take part in this churchwide offering and in the work of buildi
 ng a community where every person is treated with dignity.
